Join Photosprouts for Discover, Create, and Capture: A Summer Photography Journey! This is a 5-day summer camp designed for middle school students aged 11–14 who are curious about the art of seeing and storytelling through images.
Held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at CSB, this photography camp combines classroom learning with exciting outdoor field trips to some of San Francisco’s most photogenic locations — including the Cable Car Museum, Ina Coolbrith Park, and the Ferry Building & the Embarcadero coastline.
Students will learn the fundamentals of photography, the camera basics, lighting, composition, and perspective, while using a Canon DSLR cameras and lenses provided by the instructors. Classes are fun, hands-on, interactive, and application-oriented, encouraging campers to express themselves creatively and see the world from new perspectives. Campers travel locally by public transportation and sometimes on foot, building confidence while exploring the city’s culture and scenery.
Led by experienced full-time photography teachers from San Francisco’s top-rated photography education company, the program builds on years of proven teaching experience to deliver a trusted curriculum that is customized for middle schoolers and produces real results.
At the end of the week, each student will receive printed copies of their best photographs, celebrating their artistic journey and growth.
